Jim Gareau

As Chief Commercial Officer, Jim oversees Headwall’s global go-to-market strategy, aligning commercial efforts to support OEM integrators and deliver long-term value for customers worldwide. His leadership emphasizes market expansion, customer collaboration, and competitive differentiation across Headwall’s industrial and remote sensing markets.

Jim brings more than 20 years of commercial leadership in precision technologies, with experience spanning the life sciences, defense, semiconductor, and imaging sectors. Before joining Headwall, he served as Vice President and Business Line Leader at IDEX Health & Science, focused on super-resolution imaging for life science instrumentation. He also held senior leadership roles at SCHOTT, Physik Instrumente, and Aperture Optical Sciences, where he guided teams through growth, customer expansion, and global commercial execution.

Jim holds an MBA from Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. His combined technical and commercial background enables him to bridge engineering and market needs—supporting customers with solutions that scale and differentiate.
